About WeatherVibe and frequently asked questions
What is WeatherVibe?
WeatherVibe is a browser weather app for US locations. It combines current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, alerts and radar with clothing advice and weather-based lifestyle insights.
Where does WeatherVibe work?
Forecasts depend on National Weather Service coverage. Search accepts US cities, places and ZIP codes. Some territories and environmental feeds have different coverage; unavailable data is identified rather than treated as zero risk.
How current is the weather?
The app requests a weather refresh every six minutes while a location is selected. Provider observations and forecasts have their own update times and caches. Current temperature uses a station observation when available, otherwise the hourly forecast. Other current fields come from the hourly forecast.
What can I plan with it?
Enable optional cards in Settings for running, yard work, a firepit evening, a car wash, hydration, outdoor or indoor days, sun protection, pollen, air quality, aurora, moon phases, meteor showers and eclipses. Cards include methodology and confidence notes.
Are lifestyle scores medical advice?
Health-related cards (Skin, Migraine, Aches, Pollen, Air Quality, Hydration, Mosquito, Tick) are general information, not medical advice. For anything you manage clinically, follow your doctor or care team. Some relationships have mixed evidence; read the evidence label and source notes for each card.
Is it free?
The current web experience is ad-supported and premium gating is disabled. Availability and future paid offerings may change.
Can an AI assistant use WeatherVibe?
Supporting browsers can discover WeatherVibe’s WebMCP tools while the app is open. Agents can read loaded data and, when asked, search or change locations, refresh weather and adjust display preferences. Ordinary browsers continue to work without WebMCP.
Does it store my location?
The app saves the selected location and display preferences in browser storage. Automatic location tracking uses browser permissions. Selecting explicit coordinates stops tracking. See the privacy policy for service and advertising details.
